Running a Disk Defrag is an important maintenance step that many do not take with their computers.  Auslogic Defrag make the process easy by making the defrag process just a few clicks.  Doing a disk defragmentation is an important step because it compresses the scattered files on your system.  When files are scattered on your system your computer takes more time than needed to access them.

When you first purchased your shiny new computer, you were in heaven.  You set it up and went right to your Facebook page and said to yourself “this is so much faster than my old computer”.  Three months go by and you start to notice that your computer doesn’t start up as fast as it once did. This bothers you but, but you live with it.  You then notice that everything is slower, and you say to yourself “this is no different than my old computer”.  There is a reason for this.  Windows , by default, manages itself in a way where it collects data from different actions that you do on the computer.  Ironically, this data is collected to help speed up actions that you do on a regular bases.  This collection of data, however, is the main reason why computers are slow.  Below are some tips that will speed up your computer by clearing out much of this data that slows your computer using CCleaner:

Ccleaner – is a program that has multiple tools for clearing out unneeded data.  Go to http://www.piriform.com/ to download Ccleaner.  Once this is installed you will go to the cleaner option of interface.  Leave the default settings selected  and click analyze .  This will determine how much space will be gained by running the cleaner and where the data is being cleaned from.

Ccleaner Uninstall – Going to tools then uninstall will take you to an uninstall tool similar to the windows uninstaller to uninstall unneeded programs that cause system slow-down. 

Ccleaner startup utility – There are many programs that will install files into your startup directory.  They do this so that it opens faster when you attempt to open it.  If it is a program that you do not use on a regular basis than when it start automatically on startup and runs it takes up memory unnecessarily.  Go through the list of programs and disable the things that you know are not needed.  Be careful when doing this because disabling the wrong thing can cause significant issues.
